CCO Associate Rick Whitlock reaches out to students at Butler University and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. He serves as Assistant Pastor of Mission and Formation at Midtown Church in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Rick pioneered the CCO's presence at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he worked through a partnership with Purdue Christian Campus House.

"I love the Gospel," says Rick. "I enjoy studying culture to understand how the Gospel of Jesus Christ connects with and also challenges our cultural moment today. I am glad to be working for the CCO because it is a Gospel-centered organization that cares about its employees and students, encouraging all to follow Jesus and develop a rich, rooted faith.

"College and graduate students are in an environment that is both more open to hearing new ideas and worldviews than anywhere else while also more closed to truth and reality than they might think. We live in a time when everyone can share anything they think and any view that is disliked is said to be harmful. But what if the truth sets us free? "I am grateful God has granted me this opportunity to love this generation of students. It is a privilege to be a part of their lives, particularly when they see that, all along, God had been pursuing them with faithful love and hope-filled truth. It is my hope to share the story of this God with students, and to encourage them to walk with God in the halls of the academy."
